The church of Christ. You may be thinking, “What makes this church different from all the other churches out there?” The world is full of division, including religious division. In speaking to His disciples in Matthew 16, Jesus said “…I will build My church…” (v. 18). In John 17:21, Jesus prays that “…they all may be one…” and in Ephesians 4, Paul encourages the church “…to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit…”

Christ never intended for His church to be divided.  The simplest way to achieve what He commands is to follow what He says….His Word.  Everything we do has its foundation in God’s Word.

When you visit….

God’s Word is our guide for every aspect of our lives, including our worship to Him.  When you visit with us at Clinton, you will see our worship patterned after the worship of the New Testament church:

PRAYING

  • Acts 2:42 – And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayers.

  • 1 Timothy 2:1 – …I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people.

SINGING

  • Ephesians 5:19-20 – …speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ…

  • James 5:13 – …Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.

GIVING

  • 1 Corinthians 16:2 – On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper…

  • 2 Corinthians 9:7 – So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

THE MESSAGE

  • 1 Corinthians 1:18 – For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

  • Mark 16:15 – …proclaim the Gospel to the whole creation.

THE LORD’S SUPPER

  • Luke 22:19-20 – And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”  Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.”

  • Acts 20:7 – Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul…continued his message until midnight.

If you are looking for a church family, we invite you to come and be a part of the family at the Clinton church of Christ!
